We will be bringing all North American servers offline tomorrow, 3/9/2010, morning at 9:00 AM EST for maintenance. At this time we anticipate that all servers will be back online no later than 1:00 PM EST. As always, please be sure to check the Herald for up to the minute information regarding this downtime.

Customer support is currently receiving a high amount of appeals regarding the implemented solution to the recent issues with the RvR weapon system.

If you were amongst those affected by the issue with the revoking of the Tome unlocks, please refer to the email you have received regarding this issue. For those players who are appealing regarding the “Faded Memory” trash loot items which were acquired due to illegitimate currency gains, we will not be exchanging these for any form of RvR currency, so we ask that you please discontinue your appeals regarding these items.

If you have recently purchased an RvR weapon or trophy after the recent fixes and are still experiencing issues with the unlock allowing you to progress to the next level of RvR Currency, please file an in game appeal and Customer Support will address it as soon as possible. Please be aware that it may take up to 72 hours to respond to your appeal.

Customer Service has received requests for assistance with the Invader
Insignia Tome unlock issue that has impacted some of you. Though we
implemented a solution yesterday, we have implemented another this
afternoon. With this new change, players who possess the original
weapon but could not equip it, are now able to resolve the issue on
their own. To accomplish this, simply open a buy window with any
merchant that has a buy back tab, sell the weapon, select the buy back
tab on the merchant window, and then buy back the weapon.

Status: Maintenance Completed

As many of you are now aware, when we introduced the new RvR Trophy system and lowered the prices of the RvR Weapons, an issue was introduced where players were able to advance their progression through the RvR Insignia ranks in an unintended manner.  To prevent further impact to the economy, we took immediate action late last night. The unfortunate side effect of this action is that the small number of players who purchased RvR weapons legitimately have lost or are not being granted the respective Tome of Knowledge unlock. Today, we are taking steps to correct this issue, and to alleviate the impact that this fix had on legitimate purchasers.

We will be bringing all North American Servers offline for a short server reboot this afternoon. Servers will be brought offline at 3:00 PM EST and are expected to be back online no later than 4:15 PM EST. During this time we will be implementing the following fix:

• Players who had previously purchased RvR weapons will need to un-equip and then reequip the weapon to receive the correct Tome of Knowledge unlock.
  
• Players who have either purchased weapons that are unusable by their career (e.g.; a Sorceress/Bright Wizard purchasing a 1 Handed Weapon) for the purposes of advancing to the next tier of Insignias, OR players who may have destroyed or salvaged the weapon will need to file an In Game Appeal using the In Game Support Tool. Please file this appeal under “Character Issues” and the Customer Service team will investigate and address accordingly. Please appeal from the character which has the issue, and name your character in your appeal by Name-Server. Please be aware that this process may take up to 72 hours.
  

We are aware that some players are being adversely affected by this issue and for that we apologize. We are committed to keeping the community updated regarding this issue, and thank you for your continued support.

We have the following Hot Fixes for you this evening:

Realm vs. Realm

• Fixed an issue where new RvR Trophy items were selling for an improper amount.
• Due to the above issue higher Tier RvR currency was entering the world at an unintended rate. As a result we have removed all illegitimately gained RvR currency. As a result of the fix implemented to address illegitimately earned currency, all players have had the corresponding Tome unlocks removed. If you are amongst the players who legitimately earned a Tome unlock allowing you to earn higher Tiers of RvR currency prior to this issue, we will be implementing a solution allowing you to repurchase the unlock using the weapon you previously purchased. This solution is not yet implemented, so please do not destroy any weapons previously purchased. If you had already destroyed the weapon, please submit an appeal using the in game support tool and it will be investigated by Customer Service.

Due to issues with higher tiers of RvR Weapon currency entering the world in an unintended manner we have temporarily disabled the RvR Weapon Quartermasters in the Capital Cities.

One of the most anticipated features of Patch 1.3.4 was the introduction of new RvR weapons. Over the course of testing, concerns were voiced by members of the community regarding the costs of the weapons.  As a development team, we made assurances that the costs would be watched and adjusted if necessary.  We’re now pleased to announce that after a great deal of analysis, discussion, and feedback, we’ve just reduced the costs of many of the RvR weapons, with a focus on the lower Renown Ranks.
